Dr. Adrian Wong, MD
Adrian completed his training in anaesthesia & intensive care in 2014 and is a Consultant at King’s College Hospital, London.
Within critical care, he has an interest in the use of point-of-care ultrasound to guide fluid management, especially around venous congestion and organ perfusion, and human factors in the time critical environment of the ICU. His other research interest includes clinical governance and safety, medical education and burnout/well-being.
He is an examiner for the European Diploma of Intensive Care Medicine. He was the ex-chair of the Social Media and Digital Content Committee of the ESICM and the Course Director of the GENIUS Ultrasound course. He is on the executive committee of the International Fluid Academy and on the board of directors of WINFOCUS.
Masumi Tanaka, MD
Masumi is a Consultant in Neurointensive Care at King’s College Hospital, London.
Her clinical and academic interests focus on the use of transcranial Doppler (TCCD) and electroencephalography (EEG) in the management of critically ill neurological patients. She is particularly interested in multimodal monitoring to optimise cerebral perfusion and guide neuroprotective strategies in the ICU.
Masumi is actively involved in medical education and contributes to national and international teaching on neurocritical care monitoring. She is part of ongoing research initiatives aimed at improving outcomes in patients with acute brain injury.
Krystian Sporysz-Janiec, MD
Graduate of the Medical University of Gdańsk, certified ultrasonographer, and enthusiast of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in intensive care, with a particular focus on transcranial Doppler (TCCD) and lung ultrasound. He has completed numerous ultrasound trainings both in Poland and abroad, including at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Wake Forest School of Medicine. Lecturer and instructor in ultrasound courses.
Mateusz Zawadka, MD, PhD
Mateusz Zawadka, MD, PhD, DESAIC, EDIC is a consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care at the 2nd Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the University Clinical Centre and an assistant professor at the Medical University of Warsaw. Dr Zawadka completed his research and clinical fellowships at St. Bartholomew and King’s College Hospital in London, UK, and earned his PhD in the field of perioperative echocardiography.
With a focus on critical care echocardiography, procedural ultrasound, and education, Dr Zawadka is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge. He is a member of the WINFOCUS Board of Directors. Additionally, as the dedicated Chair of the Echocardiography and Ultrasound Section of the Polish Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, he actively supports the development of local point-of-care education programs.
