Magdalena Kasprowicz, Associate Professor (DSc, Eng.) is affiliated with the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology, at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland. Since 2013, she has been leading the Neuroengineering laboratory BrainLab, which specializes in the measurement, analysis, and processing of signals from multimodal monitoring of the human central nervous system.
Her research primarily explores the relationships between pressures, volumes, and flows in the brain using signal processing, machine learning techniques, and mathematical modelling. She develops methods for analysing cerebral hemodynamics using transcranial Doppler (TCD) data from ICU patients. She gained international experience through internships at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. She has co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers published in journals listed on the Master Journal List. She has supervised the successful completion of four doctoral dissertations, three of which received distinction, and is currently supervising five ongoing Ph.D. projects.
Prof. Kasprowicz has led multiple research projects funded by the National Science Centre in Poland (NCN) and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). She has received scholarships awarded by the Foundation for Polish Science, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Czesław M. Rodkiewicz Foundation.
Since May 2025, she has held the position of Deputy Dean for Internationalization and Collaboration with the Socio-Economic Environment at the Doctoral School. Since 2024, she has been an active member of the Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. As of October 2024, she also serves as Deputy Chair of the Scientific Discipline Council for Biomedical Engineering at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.
